Most of the white people I know personally can only trace their roots in this country back to grandparents or great-grandparents. In my own family my white grandparents were all second generation immigrants while my one mixed race grandparent had African ancestors dating back to the 's and American Indian ancestors dating back to whenever people walked over the land bridge.
